A Visual Journal
Early Years
A lack of clear memories, while some individuals may have a few scattered recollections from their earliest days, most people do not retain any significant memories until they are a bit older. All I remember is my room and crib.
Early Middle Years
"Teendom brought freedom, friends, and new experiences. I was completely naive to the world and alone. Drawing was my teenage diary. Everything was new so saying no meant bouts of FOMO and peer pressures. My choices relied solely on fitting in. I was kicked out by 16.
Married with Children
Marrying was not on my agenda. It happened that I became pregnant again with a man who treated us poorly. Then you didn't admit you made a mistake and lived with your actions' consequences. This was my first attempt at adulting and at living with my choices for my children.
Foggy Years
Childhood memories are incredibly precious, encompassing early experiences that resonate throughout life, from the excitement of the first day of school to playful moments with friends, family vacations, and birthday celebrations. They serve as a poignant reminder of the joy and innocence of childhood. However, when I reflect on my own childhood, I struggle to recall any joyful memories.
Early Motherhood
Welcome to 21! I celebrate the strength and resilience of mothers who are navigating pregnancy and motherhood without a place to call home. I know it's not easy birthing alone. My reward brought me the most wonderful angel for completing the task.
Grown Up
It's time to focus on myself after a lifetime of caring for others. Who am I without a mask? Although I may not have many material possessions, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share through my artwork. Come along with me on my self-discovery and see where it leads.
